That lot of ground lying being and situated in Saint Peters Street in the Lower Town of the said City of Quebec with the stone house thereen built consisting of three stories garrets and cellars vaulted under the same containing twenty six feet or there abouts in front along the said Saint Peters Street including the half of the mutual gable between the said house and that of Captain Joseph Launnière by thirty six feet or thereabout in breadth from the said Saint Peters Street towards the River Saint Lawrence making in whole twenty six square superficial toises bounded on the side towards the North by the property of the said Captain Launniere and on the other side towards the south by the property of John Renaud Esquire Grand Voyer for the District of Quebec and on the front by the forsaid Street called Saint Peters Street and behind on a line with the walls of the Houses of the said Messrs Renaud and Launniere and all and singular the appartenances and appendages to the said lot and house appertaining and belonging without any exception or reservation whatsover which hereby bargained premissies were sold and adjudged by a jugement of the Court of Common Pleas for the City of Quebec bearing date the fourteenth day of July one thousand seven hundred and sixty four to Mr Louis Lizotte of the said city of Quebec Merchant as being the highest bedder for the same and which said Louis Lizote did by a certain deed bearing date the first day of September one thousand seven hundred sixty six Passed before Mess. Panet and Sanguinet notaries for the said city of Quebec declare and acknowledge that the purchase made by him of the forsaid bargained premisses was for the sole use right benefit and advantage of him the said Peter Stuarts ... . And whereas since the acquisition of the forsaid bargained premisses by him the said Peter Stuart he along with mess Renaud and Launniere got a verbal permission several years ago from the then governor of Quebec to raise and construct a warf at some considerable distance from the back of their houses towards the river by which they have each acquired a considerable space of ground and on which the said Peter Stuart has and there is at present erected a gallery and several out houses ...
